-------------------------------------------------------------------
I own one Sightron since start of this year (MilDot, non-tactical).
Pros:
-Excellent turret mechanics, defined clicks, repeatable
-good rangefinding ("snapping in")
-Glass quality on par with my Nikko Mk1 (Black turrets), chromatic aberrations slightly better
-turret protection caps at the non-tactical (MilDot) model (altered my windage on my trousers at the Nikko when shouldering the rifle with the sling in Italy)
-1/8 MOA clicks at the non-tactical
-Big MilDots help in dark conditions to center the reticle on target (I'm turret-twister with the Sightron, was Holdover/-under before with the
Nikko)
-did not remark any temperature shift in rangefinding (or maybe I'm just too stupid to remark one ;^) )
Cons:
-Rather dark at full mag
-MilDots too far away from each other for Holdover/-under
-rather narrow field of view
-narrow margin on the sidewheel between 40 and 50m (reparallaxed mine to be able to focus down at 9m at full mag)
-1/4 MOA clicks at the tactical version with illuminated reticle
Overall:
My results went up with the Sightron, can't tell exactly why, shifted at the same time from Holdover/-under to turret-twisting...
Norway was my best worlds so far.
Personally I would opt for the Sightron again if Nikko was the alternative because of the good mechanical quality...
And Above?
March would be interesting, but there's the price...
Leups are crystal clear, but you need to know how to rangefind, and I sometimes need a variable magnification...
