I have myself searched for any topic that really shows the differences between the new and "improved" P30 compared to the old one without good results, so i figure i might as well show you the improvments for all of you that doesnt know what they changed.
First off, if you wish to get the better version of the P30 you may buy one with the stamp BA (2010) to be sure. I had to specifically ask for one at Ostheimer or else they would to 99% for sure sent me an older model first.
So..there are visual changes you actually can see outside the gun to if you look closely, you may see the fact that they have changed the slidestop to one made of steel, but only the part that locks the slide thru the gun not the entire slide stop, as you see on the pictures below you can see that the improved P30 have a more shiny slide stop (steel) while the older one have the black plastic one. Also you may see that the cutouts in the barrel have different locations for reasons unknown. Picture 1 and 2
Picture 3 shows the slidestops next to eachother with the new one in steel to the right and old one to the left. But i will inform you that the new slide stop is really really hard to take out, its almost stuck in the gun and i hade to use an hammer to knock it out...!
Also, in picture 4 they have also made the corners on the slides back round (red marking) instead of edged, in fact that is a more solid desing with round corners.
If you look at picture 5, the inside of the slide has several areas where the manufacturer has strenghed the slide (red markings), the older P30 slide above for comparison.
As i can only post 5 pictures maximum in a thread i will show the last to pictures below this statement
