Construction failure Walther P88? (DA)

Hi gang! (please feel free to reply in Geman)

The Double Action of my P88 doesn't work like it should. From the 10 times I try firing Double Action only 3~4 blanks ignite.

I compared the position of the cock when shooting SA and DA. I think the problem is that the cock isn't pulled back far enough with DA to properly ignite the blank.

This can also be concluded after looking at the blank...only a very small dent when shooting DA and a nice deep dent when shooting SA.

Are there more members who have experienced this?

Can this be fixed or is it a construction failure?

I am not that informed about this topic! But may be your ammunition "couldn't be used" for that tipe of pistol

Did you tried anouther tipe of ammunition?

But this is just a gess ...

I know that Co2 pistols usually "work" like this: SA: clock pulled back "enough"/ DA: clock pulled back enough but not that mutch!

So far I can "try to help" you ....

schon wieder die P88 am besten du verkaufst sie in eGun und kaufst dir mal was gescheides von Erma =)

Du wirst sehen hast viel mehr davon =) Ich weiss gar nicht ist es nun der 5 oder 6 Thread ? Ist ja nicht so schlimmer aber die "Umarex" Produkte halt

I do not think that this phenomenon is particular to the P88. I have seen these failures in other pistols as well and the reason seems to be exactly what you described above. In combination with ammunition that needs a "good hit" to ignite, it can happen.

But since pistols are usually shot Single Action and only the first shot may be fired in DA mode if a cartridge is already loaded this problem is not always recognized.

First of all I would try to use more "sensitive" ammo.

Yes I know my friend. Umarex is not as good as I expected.
I can read German just fine... just can't write it that well

I know Erma and Röhm are of better quality but the Umarex models are just better looking In my opinion and best of all... they have a genuine counterpart.

In diesem Fall gibt es für dich nur eine Option: Umarex-SSWs wie P 88 zum Ansehen und eine Röhm, z.B. Vektor, RG 88, Mauser HSC 90, zum Schiessen.

Erma-Modelle haben zar kein scharfes Vorbild aber die hatten scharfe Schwestermodelle in .22 lr, 6,35mm Browning (.25 ACP), 7,65mm Browning (.32 ACP) und 9mm kurz (.380 ACP). Die Revolver gab es in .22 lr, .38 Special und .357 Magnum.

Beim UHR gab es noch eine Version in .22 wmr (winchester magnum rimfire)
