  • Hello,
i am sorry for posting in english, but my German is not very good.

I recently bougt a Hakim air rifle.
The information I already found on this forum has helped me alot, but i still have a few questions that some of you experts might be able to answer :huldige: .

Right next to the deaths head, on the left side of the rifle there are a few numbers (see picture 1)
I believe it says "1335", but the "5" could be an unfortunate scratch. Is this the serial number?

    Second picture:
a number under the loading port opener, only visible when the stock is removed. It says " E 133". Since they where made in Germany, could this stand for "Einheit 133", translated in english "number 133". Is this the serial number then, and is the 5 in the above picture only a scratch?

    Third picture:
A mark on the back of the system, visible with the stock attached.
Three stars, inside a half moon, inside a circle.

If you want any additional pictures, please do not hesitate to ask ,

thanks alot for any answer i might get

Hi Jef, and welcome here at CO2AIR.

"Einheit" ist definitely not possible, because the Hakims were made completely for the egyptian government in 1954 - what sence would a german marking make, if no sample was set aside for the german civilian market? I assume, that E for "Egypt" is more likely. According to the Blue Book of Airguns, 5th edition the skull and the arabic markings stand for either "National Union Youth Movement" or for "Training Airgun Anschütz, Germany 1955". Approx 2800 airguns were made, so 133 could really be a low serial number.

The markings on the first picture seem to be arabic, too, no latin writing, and the marking on picture 3 seems to be a proofmark. Dieter Anschütz told me some years ago (for the VISIER article about the Hakim in 12/88), that in 1954 the egypt general who was responsible for that order came to Ulm, checked and approved every single air rifle...

  • First Picture: The numbers are:

1, the next two numbers are looking like the arabic "2"

  • Hello,

thank you very much for the information! i am following this forum for a while now. Also for information about Haenel airrifles, because i have a few of them, which i restored.
This forum really is an enormous source of information.
I should purchase a copy of the Blue Book

The rifle i have has a few items missing,
    the center stock screw,
the item in front of the iron sight,
the front piece for the sling
and a piece i do not know the word for in english, see picture

    What would you reccomend?
leaving it in its original state,

or could i try to make the missing items myself, since it is impossible to get spare parts, I assume
But i would need exact measurments for this,
are there any diagrams of the rifle?
Or does anyone have experience with this?

I noticed the item in front of the iron sights whas welded on to the rifle, this ofcourse i would not do.

I know, a lot of questions, but i am really exited about this addition to my little collection.

    Kind regards,
    Jef

    PS

Would the serial number be 133,
or is it like Pellet suggests
the first one looks like a 5 to me, the next two look like mirrored 3, and then 1
Pellet, the picture is indeed upside down, i forgot to rotate it

  • Pellet,
it is the item on the photo that i am missing,
the picture comes from the person i bought the rifle from, he also had the pleasure of owning two of them, just like you !

Yes. But in Arabic. You must look for a translator.

  • Just my two pennies:

the left marking upside down seems to be a version of the arabic "L", as can be seen in this list:
    http://www.arabica-online.com/de/helpdocs/p7…g_arabisch.html

    The others are 441.
    http://www.arabica-online.com/de/helpdocs/p7…t_arabisch.html

The differences in appearance can be explained by the fact that there are different styles to write this. ( Forum / Forum, not to mention fonts like Gothic, Paintbrush a.s.o.)

  • Rifleman,
thanks for the link and the trouble,

The first symbol has a scratch at the bottom, i will try to make a better picture.
Do any of you then have an idea what the number "E133" on the inside means? or is this simply something from while it was in the factory?

    Thanks a lot

    Jef

PS i took another, closer look, and a better picture

the last 3 are definetly 441, but the first symbol resembles a "k" on the first page Rifleman posted

  • Pelletman,
    thanks for the reply,
I was just hoping that there was somekind of primitive scope to fit on the Hakim, that would 've looked nice. but if there is no original, i don t want anything on it.

    I just received some H&N pellets, 5.50mm
I shot the rifle over the chrony, and it holds steady just over 140m/s

    Kind regards,

    Jef

I doubt that there was an "original" scope for the Hakim.
But: I am not familiar with scopes but this thing mounted on the Hakim looks like a (simple) scope.

How much is the weight? I have heared that :F:-stamped Hakim giving 0,96g-pellets a speed of around 120 m/s.

  • Hello,
    sorry it's been a while since i visited CO2air.

I just weighed a series of 10 lead balls, the average is 0.92 grams,
but this difference in weight is probably not enough for the difference in velocity.
Maybe mine has just a few shots less fired.

Kind regards, and i'll keep an eye on the forum
