Because I'm always looking for optimum accuracy I ordered in the USA (Benchmark Barrrels, Arlington) a .25 custombarrel which will specially be developed for JSB King pellets. I'm gonna put it on my Theoben Rapid MKII. I'm curious to know how it will perform.
Barrel Specifications:
- 28 inch long finished barrel length, the rough barrel may come in 29 – 30 inches.
- Stainless Steel.
- .750 finished outside diameter. **If you want your barrel turned down to fit a receiver Ron Sinema, of Benchmark, suggests having him do it prior to lapping the bore.**
- Bore diameter = .248 inches
- Groove diameter = .254
- 1 in 17 inch twist
- Cant land
- Taper lapped **This is the Benchmark trademark technique that tightens the bore from breech to a tight muzzle** This is probably responsible for much of the accuracy observed by powder burning shooters and the USFT benchrest shooters.
It will not be easy but it should make bettter groups as this.
