    hi,
I recently tested an EGR 66 and an Umarex SW M36 side-by-side.

The EGR 66 is a jewel! But it costs 200-250 euros used.
Absolutely for collectors only. I would not use or carry it any way.

The HW 88 S.A. is the best for carry, and it is not so expensive.

If you have money and opportunity, buy BOTH.

And a cheap UMAREX for sylvester.

"Die Reck PK 800 ist mit folgenden Gaswaffen technisch identisch:

    - Walther PPK"

No, the PPK's mag catch is on its grip left side, the PK800's is on the heel of the grip.

The Rohm version also have heel-type mag catch, so none of them is really authentic.

    hi,
the Twinny is so expensive, because it do not have any competition.

And its firing mech. is quite complicated, and made of steel. Expensive to manufacture.

But despite its high-price, the Twinny definietly worth it. Beautyful little bastard!

    "
Thanks for your update. Do you know if the Hungarian State stil hold some of their shares "

As far as I know it is 100% private property.

The MFS often manufactures ammo under different company's name.
(live: Fiocchi, Lake City Ammo, and alarm: IWG "Power Pack")

    MFS
"Heute befindet es sich zu 100% in staatlicher Hand"

No, since 2000 the company is in private hand (Hungarian) again.
    New name: MFS 2000 Rt.

Their live ammo is quite good quality (for training), with a few exceptions.
Their alarm patrons (I tested the 9 mm PAK only) sometimes horrendously unreliable!!!
The gas pressure varies too much.

    hi,
the Umarex/Kimar/Bruni/Me etc. "Pythons" are very _dangerous_ guns!!!
These cheap junk revolvers do not have passive firing pin safety, so if you accidentaly drop a loaded one, it will FIRE!!!

    hi,
"Der Rapid Launcher ist KEINE Waffe im Sinne des Waffengesetzes! (Aussage Röhm) Daher frei erwerbbar ab 18 Jare und OHNE kleinen Waffenschein zu führen (Abschußgerät). "

    Is it true???

Is it technically 90% the same as the RG96 PTB-gas-alarm gun!

If you don't want to spend 50 euros for KWS, you can carry this piece lodaed with gaspatrons???

(And what if I change its slide to a PTB-marked original RG96-slide??? I need the KWS again???)

    hi,
the price is about 210 euros. (Almost the same as the 9 mm Kurz or 7,65 Brg versions). But used real ones are under 60-80 euros, the used gaspistol is about 130-150 euros.

The quality is not constant (there is no such thing as quality management). Years ago it was much better, I had a 5 years old shorter example, which is much more reliable, the the ones from the last 2 years.

The Russian http://www.baikalinc.ru (Izhmash) made the real Makarov and PSM and MCM-K (Margolin) in 8 mm Knall, also entirely steel, no-PTB.

In Poland, the P-83 Wanad (originally 9x18 mm Makarov) is made in 9 mm PAK (P-83G).

But I think it is better to get zinc guns without license whenever you want (and as many as you want), than to held one steel gaspistol without the chance to buy a new one if it broke for whatever reason.
To change the existing gun, you need to start from the beginning the entire licensing procedure, which is about 2-3 month...

    hi,
I've seen such a revolver in France this summer.
Technically it is 100% identical to Umarex Reck Cobra (today: Colt Detective Spec), EXCEPT the barrel. The cca. 3" barrel has a 15 mm caliber muzzle, but the first 4-5 centimeters are similar as PTB-guns.

(The revolver is almost totally zinc alloy, but the hammer is steel.)

    Compare:

    hi,
"Ich glaube das bei Gaswaffen mit einem Polymergriffstück die Lebensdauer viel höher ist...
Da das Plastikgrifftück den Rückschlag besser absobieren kann "

You read too much american "combattacticalhandguns" magazines.

    :-))

This is only true in the case of real firearms. Almost all gas-alarm pistols with "polymer-frame" (P99, P22, RG96, CP1) are NOT really polymer frame!

There is a normal full-zinc pistol inside a "polymer-socks", all the operating parts moving on the metal frame, there is no such shock-absorbing feature!
